It took over 7 months to finally get this final episode of my gardening journey posted, but here it is!
This is my final check-in with CBC The Homestretch, where I first talk about the final steps of harvesting our root garden and turning the garden down completely, and then reflect on the top 3 things I learned in my gardening journey. Tracy Fuller from CBC also reflects on what she learned by following us on our journey.
Thank you to CBC for documenting our journey, to Grow Food Calgary (Donna Balzer, Chelsie Anderson & Shelley Goldbeck) for inspiring and teaching us to grow food in our own backyard, and especially to God Himself. I am so amazed at the wonder of His creation. As I said in my interview, all I did was put the seed in the ground. I cannot take credit for anything else: the explosive growth, the way the seeds knew what to do and how they were differentiated from each other, the sunshine, the wonder of photosynthesis, and the ability to feed ourselves from this one simple act.
